After the first goal was scored in the fourth minute, City managed to hang onto their early lead for a 1-0 win in Devonport.

Dom Rossi scored the first and only goal of the match early on with only failed attempts from both teams to follow.
Devonport’s Adam Gorrie and Michael Holden made several attempts to score but a strong defence from City kept them without a score on the board.
Beau Blizzard was a stand out for the Strikers towards the end of the first-half but strong performances by the entire Launceston team meant the score had not changed at the break.
An impressive save from Devonport’s Tom Pearce kicked off the second half of the game.
Thanks to some strong work through the midfield by Nathan Bartlett and some missed shots at goal, City held onto their lead at the final whistle.
Tom Pearce, Dom Rossi and Shane Egan each got Walter Pless Media Award votes.
